Super Blood Donor!
So on thursday i gave blood at my school. I totally forgot about it so i didn't have my blood donor card. And for some reason i'm not in the system, even though i have a card. so now i'm going to have a new card to add to my collection. Type O pos, thats me. So my blood can save like 90% of people but i can only get blood from like 10% of the people. The odds aren't in my favor. Lets just hope i never have to get blood from anyone and if i do there are plenty of type O's around.
But i didn't write this blog to make me look good for giving blood. I wrote this so i could share a story, an experience i had there. When i sat down to get poked there was an elderly man next to me. He was just about done so i had to wait while the nurse had to do the finishing stuff. I was listening to their converstation b/c i had nothing else to listen to. The nurse handed the man his paper work and told him that he couldn't give blood for another six weeks. After the she said that, the man looked at her and said "that long!". then he asked if his blood was going to be sent to the armed services. i was sitting there and i was pleseantly suprised. it makes my heart smile to see someone complain about having to wait six weeks so that he could give his blood again. How cool is that! so maybe i'm the only one that thinks that.
Well, i'm going home for Easter. I'm excited. It will be good to hang with the fam. i know its only like 24 hours but i'm going to miss it here at VU. Its really hit me for some reason today that ill be home for good in a month. Now don't get me wrong, i don't have anything against being home. Its just this year i've really gotten so much closer to people. i don't want to leave them for 3 months. i tear up just thinking about. Breathe Caitlin breathe. I guess ill just have to make these last few weeks the best of my school year.
So...umm....bed is looking really good now! Have a great Easter!
My life in a nutshell: I'm really happy and why wouldn't i be. Amazing family. I have some amazing friends. And i serve an amazing God. What else do i need?
